i'm gunna incarcerate me a rape victim!

Illinois Judge Jerry Kennedy threatened a female rape victim with jail time because she refused to watch the video of her rape in court. He later backed off from his threat after severe complaints from victim's rights advocates. The woman, age 16 at the time, was gang-raped while unconscious during a party. Her rapists videotaped their attack.

Orange County has its own ongoing gang rape saga which is quite similar to this Illinois case. In 2002, three young men videotaped the sexual assault of an unconscious minor during a Newport Beach high school party. The first trial ended in 2004 with a deadlocked jury. The three men were then convicted during the second trial in October 2005. We are still waiting for the sentencing.

The worst of the bunch was defense attorney Joe Cavallo, who asserted that the female suspect was a slut who (1) wanted to be raped and (2) probably enjoyed being sexually assaulted with a pool cue.
