UPDATE 3/11/2006: The three defendants each get six years in prison

Four years after their gang rape of an unconscious 16-year old, defendants Greg Haidl and his two friends will be sentenced tomorrow. The rapists' first trial ended in a mistrial, the second trial ended in a conviction. What led to the conviction? Probably the fact that the rape was videotaped and the jurors were forced to watch the horrible footage.

Here's Haidl jury foreman Robbie Ruiz:

“The tape proved they were guilty. If you show that video on the news, everybody’s view would be that these guys should hang. People would go crazy. You know what I mean? It was primal. It looked like savages having their way with a piece of meat.”

We'll see what their sentences are tomorrow.
