unleash your inner asshole for jesus

While Justin Timberlake is busy bringing sexy back, Christian rabblerouser Brad Stine is bringing misogyny back to Christianity:

In fact, men taking charge is a big theme of the GodMen revival. At what he hopes will be the first of many such conferences, in a warehouse-turned-nightclub in downtown Nashville, Stine asks the men: "Are you ready to grab your sword and say, 'OK, family, I'm going to lead you?' " He also distributes a list of a real man's rules for his woman. No. 1: "Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down."

Stine's wife, Desiree, says she supports manly leadership; it seems to her the natural and God-ordained order of things. As she puts it: "When the rubber hits the bat, I want to know my husband will protect me."

Instead of adapting one's life to Christian teachings simply adapt Christianity to your own prejudices - it's so much easier that way. The 21st century has seen different sub-cultures create their own adaptations of Christianity - Jay Bakker's punk-rock brand comes to mind. But Brad Stine's version is the most repulsive re-invention of Christian teachings I've seen yet.

I guess you could say this is the "Original Pime". I stopped blogging here regularly in May 2008 (if you don't count the B-Sides diversion - yes it gets confusing) when I joined the Tumblr revolution. Going forward bravely into 2009, this site will serve to house any large image work I produce.

Peace out.
