what an upset

France defeats Brazil, 1-0

French midfielder and futbol artiste Zinedine Zidane walks away in victory as Brazil's Ze Roberto gets a cold dose of reality...

I watched the game at the Newport Beach Golf Club "tee room" with about 100 Brazilians. The victory chants made by the four France fans in the room paid off as France pulled off a major upset. I must admit, Brazil was completely off their game yesterday. France dominated the game and the Brazilians were too slow to react. Zidane's control of the midfield was impressive, even for a guy pushing 35. France deserved the win, and Matt deserves mad props for calling the game for France on Friday.

I was hoping for a Latin American country to end up in the semi-finals. But we're left with the former imperial powers of Europe in the final four: France, Italy, Portugal and Germany.

Looks like I'll be rooting for Portugal, mainly because I don't care for the other three. Luis Figo and Cristiano the Diver are two enjoyable players to watch.

About

I guess you could say this is the "Original Pime". I stopped blogging here regularly in May 2008 (if you don't count the B-Sides diversion - yes it gets confusing) when I joined the Tumblr revolution. Going forward bravely into 2009, this site will serve to house any large image work I produce.

Peace out.
